It was Sunday. I was sitting in front of my house while reading a Japanese comic. The weather was cloudy. The dark clouds were in the sky. The cold wind was blowing. The street in front of the house was wet and slippery.
By the time I want to finish reading the Japanese comics, I suddenly heard a strange sound from the bushes in front of my house. I was surprised by the sound of it.
Then it disappeared.
Suddenly, the sound was heard again. It made me more curious. Then I approached the bushes and sway it. What I saw was surprising. There was a wounded bird. Its left wing was bleeding. I was very sad to see the injured bird.
I took Pipit, the name I gave to the bird, to my house for treatment. Her injury was so severe that the bird could not fly.
I took care of the bird until she could fly again. After knowing that she had recovered, I released her into the wild.
A few days later, I felt so bored at home. I decided to continue my unfinished reading the Japanese comic. Suddenly, there was a girl. She came up to me and said,

”What are you doing?”

“I’m reading a manga.” I said.

The girl gave only a question. She kept on walking. I’m confused and curious with the girl who had suddenly appeared. I ran and chased her, but she disappeared somewhere. I thought she was with a family recently moved to a house a few blocks from mine.
The next day, I tried to find out the girl who appeared suddenly in front of my house yesterday. So, I went to the house.
I saw her there. She was stuffing his belongings into the house with her parents. I immediately greeted and approached her. She was surprised to see me. Then she asked,

“Can I know why you come to my house?”

I said, “I’m your neighbor and I want to welcome you to the neighborhood.”

We chatted. I told my name, and so did she. Her name was Pipit. She was beautiful and very friendly. She is quite talkative. She has good voice. Sometimes she sang a little song. I was amazed by her voice. She could be a good singer someday. She was as tall as me. Her hair was long, straight and black. I would be very happy to be her friend. Since then, we became friends.
A few days later, I came to her house again. I had promised to take her for a walk in the town. While we were walking, she told me that she would attend the same school as me. I’m glad to hear it. We’re too busy talking that we forgot the time. So we came home late in the evening.
The next day when I went to school, I passed her house. I called her and it seemed she was preparing to go to school. So we went to school together riding a car.
At school in the classroom, I realized that she was a smart. She was always able to answer all the questions given by the teacher. I was glad to know it.
Time flew. So it was time for us to go home, we went home together riding the school bus. After a few minutes, we finally arrived at her home. I was asked to stay for a moment at her home for lunch with her family. I received  the offer. I ate a lot there because I was so hungry. Pipit was there. She smiled at me once in a while. While I was looking at her, I saw there was a scar on her left arm. She noticed it and she said,

“Do you know how I get this scar?”

“No,” I said.

“A boy shot me with a slingshot and I want to say thank to you.” She replied.

“I don’t understand.” I said curiously.

“Rachman, I was the bird you helped two weeks ago.”

“Are you serious?”

“Yes, Rachman. You took me from the bushes and you treated me at your house, then you released me when I was recovered. Even I gladly changed my name from Marsha to Pipit, the name you gave me”, she said.

I was shocked and surprised to know the truth. So I asked her to tell me how she could become a bird. She said she had made a fatal mistake to her parents. She was very spoiled and always asked for things from them. She treated her parents like maids. The last thing that made them very furious was when she didn’t get what she wanted, she threw their wedding rings to the well. They were really mad at her and her mother cursed her to become a bird. The day when she was injured, she realized her mistake. After she recovered, she went back home. She asked for forgiveness to her mother by leaning her head and crying. Then her mother forgave her. A few days later, they moved here because the old house would always remember them to open the old wound. They decided to live in this neighborhood to know me well. They said I was their hero.
I took a deep breath. I cried. I said to her that I was glad to help her.
I became her best friend. I felt that she was the closest friend to me. I do not want to lose a friend who is very precious to me.

When the rain began to fall, the sky was dark. The cold wind was roaring and blowing very fast. It forced me to stay in the house to finish reading Japanese comics.
Not long after that, the rain stopped. I ended up helping my mother clean the front porch of the house. After I helped my mom, suddenly my father took me and my sister to go on holiday to Lembang.
Finally, my family went to Lembang together. We were happy that our family could go for vacation together to Lembang. On the way,  I always made jokes with my sister.
While we were joking, I suddenly heard a crash. Oh my God,  our car was hit by a motorcycle ridden by a lady. She was thrown away as far as 2 meters. But oddly enough, the woman was not badly injured. She had only a few minor injuries. My family immediately helped her because her condition was very weak. She was  taken to the hospital nearby.
Thank God, our family was safe. God reprimanded us to be careful in driving a vehicle.

It was Sunday, I was sitting in front of my house while reading Japanese comic. The weather was cloudy. The dark clouds were in the sky. The cold wind was blowing. The street in front of the house was wet and slippery.
From the distance, I saw a tall, handsome, and dashing boy. He took his big dog with him. I couldn’t see his face clearly. The thick fog was blocking my vision.
The rain came down. He was getting closer, closer and closer. I put the Japanese comic on the table. Then, I could see his face clearly. My heart said “I guess I don’t know him. But, why does he smile at me and walk to Mr. Tom’s house?”
The next day when I was ready to go to school, the handsome boy appeared from the back of Mr. Tom’s door. He walked up to me.

He said “Hi, do you live in that house?”

Yes, Do you stay with Mr.Tom?” asked me.

Yes, I am the nephew of Mr. Tom. I stay here for a while. Just for finishing my study at the university here. My name’s Steven. What’s your name?” said the handsome boy.

“My name’s Clairon. I’m sorry I can’t talk to you too long. Maybe the next time we can talk again. Bye!”

I left Steven and rushed to the collage.
On the way back from the collage, we accidently met again.

Steven greeted, “ Hi, where are you going?”

“I’m going to the book store, Steve”. I answered.

Can I go with you?” asked him again.

 “Sure, why not?” I replied.

Since then, we always went  to the university together. And finally, we were good friends.

A Promise?

It was Sunday. I was sitting in front of my house while reading a Japanese comic. The weather was cloudy. The dark could was in the sky. The cold wind was blowing. The street in front of the house was wet and slippery. Then I heard two persons in the house yelling to each other. It appeared that each of them wanted to speak louder than the other.

"CAN YOU SEE? I AM DOING THE HOUSE CHORE. AND I AM TIRED TO ARGUE WITH YOU!"

"DO YOU THINK I'M NOT TIRED? YOU STARTED IT!"

I saw my parents started to argue again. Yes, again.  I'm really tired and sick of hearing them arguing and do not think about my feelings. Looks like the sky was like me, dark like my situation at the moment.

~ "God, I hope this situation can end" ~

I decided to go out. It was better than to hear the useless chatter. When I step my feet to the door, I heard my mother was calling me.

"Tristan, are you going out?" asked my mother.

"Please, don’t bother. Just continue the two of you are having right now." I replied in a tone of indifference.

They were just silent. No words came out from their mouths. Are they completely
ignored me? In fact, I want them not to let me go because of the dark and cloudy weather. Or at least, they could only say 'Be careful' to me.

            “Huff. . . !”

I immediately started the engine of my motorcycle. I hold the accelerator  for a high speed.
“Wait. What's that? Is it a car?” My sight was not clear because of the heavy rain. The car stopped suddenly. Arrrrgh. . . damn it! I quickly set my foot on the brake very hard. But it seemed too late, the road was too slippery and. . .

BAAM. . .! ! !

My vision was blurred. I slowly lose my consciousness.

“Mom. . . “ I could no longer lift my head. It was the unwanted dizziness,  and finally I got fainted.

DA R K. . . .

I open my eyes a little. It was still blurred and a bit white.

“Where am I?” I said while trying to collect my conscience.

"You are awaken, Tristan". I thought it was my mother's voice.

"You’d just had an accident." It seemed my father took his turn to speak.

“Forgive us, my dear", my mother said. I saw my father and my mother crying. The tears dropped from their eyes. I can see them after I gained full awareness of myself. But I said nothing. I was just silent. But I threw them a big smile and said,

"I just don’t want to hear you arguing anymore."

"Yes, we promise not to do it again." The promise was spoken from the mouth of my father. I hoped the promise would not be broken.

"Arrggh. . . “. Suddenly I felt my head so heavy. The room looked spinning. I was very dizzy and  I cannot help it. I can’t stand it anymore. I was forced to close my eyes slowly. . .and I felt nothing anymore.
"TRISTAN. . .TRISTAN.” my mother cried. My mother was weeping a lot before a headstone that read 'TRISTAN'. I was gone. I passed away. The accident was fatal. I suffered from heavy bleeding in the brain. The doctors couldn’t save my life.

~ "Will they hold their promise? God really loves me. Thanks God “ ~

Soon the rain fell with thunder roaring in the sky. I immediately went into the house because I was afraid of lightning.
Not long after that I saw someone coming to my house. It was my friend Rina. She came to my house because we were going to do the homework together.
Rina and I sat in front of the fireplace because the air outside was very cold. Rina and I drank a cup of hot tea accompanied with my mother's homemade chocolate chip cookies. Rina really liked it. She could not stop eating the chocolate biscuits. We almost  forget the real goal which was to do the homework.
Once the task was completed, the rain stopped. We both played in front of the house. My mom told me to clean the yard filled with leaves because of the strong winds during rain. After all of our work had been completed, Rina said goodbye to me and my mother. She was going to go home. Her parents were waiting at home.

A few minutes after I sat down. I felt a bit hungry, and then I went to the kitchen to get a snack. After that, I went back to the front of the house to continue reading comic. When I was reading, suddenly a strong wind washed my comic to the middle of the road. I ran to take my flying comic. My body was soaked in the drizzling rain. I was unaware that there was a car speeding towards me. The car hit me hard and I was thrown a few meters on the road.
I was unconscious. When I woke up, I was already in the hospital. Then I asked my parents what had happened to me. My parents explained that I was struck by a car in the middle of the road. I had a broken bone and I had to be hospitalized for a week.
