GILI TRAWANG BEACH

    Historically, the island was once used as a dumping inmates. At that time because all the prisons are full, the king who was ruling throwing 350 people rebel Sasak to this island. Recently around the 1970's the island of Sulawesi visited residents who later settled here.

 Gili Trawangan is the largest of the three small islands or dyke located in the northwest of Lombok. Trawangan is also the only giliyang height above sea level is significant. With a length of 3 km and 2 km wide, Trawangan population of about 800 inhabitants. Among the three dyke, Trawangan has facilities for tourists of the most diverse; shop "Tir Na Nog" claiming that Trawangan is the smallest island in the world is his Irish bar. Trawangan has shades of "party" more than Gili Meno and Gili Air, because many parties all night every night of the show rotated by some public places. Common means of transportation are bicycles (rented by local people for the tourists) and cidomo, simple horse-drawn carriage which are common in Lombok. For traveling to and from the third dyke, people usually use motorized boats and speedboats.

Kuta Beach

Kuta Beach is a tourist place located south of Denpasar, capital of Bali, Indonesia. Kuta is located in Badung. This area is a tourist destination abroad, and has become a mainstay tourist island of Bali since the early 70's. Kuta Beach is often referred to as sunset beach (sunset beach) as opposed to the Sanur beach.


Before becoming an attraction, Kuta is a port trade. Where the product of local traded to buyers from outside Bali. In the 19th century, Mads Lange, a Danish merchant, came to Bali and established a trading base in Kuta. His expertise in negotiating, making trader Mads Lange as famous among the kings of Bali with the Dutch.


Hugh Mahbett has also published a book entitled "Praise to Kuta" which contains an invitation to the local community to set up tourist accommodation facilities. The goal is to anticipate the explosion of tourists visiting Bali. The book was later inspired many people to build tourist facilities such as hotels, restaurants and entertainment venues.


In Kuta there are many shops, restaurants and places baths and drying herself. Besides the beauty of the beach, Kuta beach also offers various types of entertainment such as bars and restaurants along the beach to Legian beach. Rosovivo, Ocean Beach Club, Kamasutra, are some of the most crowded clubs along the beach of Kuta.


This beach also has a pretty good waves for surfing sports (surfing), especially for novice surfers. Golf I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport is located not far from Kuta.

For those who've come in Bali, would have been to Kuta beach located on the southern island of Bali, precisely located in Badung regency which is about 10 km from the city of Denpasar. The Beach

The Beach by Alex Garland is about young travelers who drop out of society and go to live in a hidden lagoon in Southern Thailand.

Fox bought the rights to the book, signed up Leonardo DiCaprio to play the lead role and then searched for a location. Maya Bay was perfect. Fox Decided that the perfect beach needed some palm trees and less vegetation so they rearranged the beach to fit a Hollywood stereotype.

Beforehand, environmentalists said removing vegetation would increase of the risk of sand erosion and that the delicate natural ecosystem may not ever recover. The vegetation was replanted after filming had finished and additional bamboo fences were put in place to support the dunes.

The following year during high tides and a strong storm the dune collapsed, the sand flowed down the beach and killed coral in the sea below. Fox went to great lengths to leave Maya Bay as they found it however the debate still goes on Whether the damage was due to the rearranging or not, many say that the replanted vegetation had not yet 'taken'.

Filming commenced in 1999 and 'The Beach' was one of the most eagerly anticipated films of 2000. The movie is cited by many tourists as the inspiration for their trip to Thailand.

Facilities in Maya Bay

A small shack a little back from the beach sells drinks and snacks.

Further back from the beach are toilets but you'd only want to use them if you're desperate.

There is no food available here; those who must bring their own camp. Fires are not allowed but there is a permanent barbeque stand for cooking.

Activities in Maya Bay

Snorkeling and diving are excellent throughout the bay, large underwater boulders are encrusted with coral and brightly colored fish are numerous. Visibility is excellent. Many tour companies bring visitors here to snorkel from Phuket, Krabi and Phi Phi Don.
Sea kayaking is also popular. Kayaking tour boats come into the bay and moor while letting clients explore.

Tour in Phi Phi Don shops have begun to advertise organized camping on 'The Beach', drinking is part of the fun Usually. Currently camping is only permitted on alternate nights.
