ANYER BEACH
One interesting beach to visit
near Jakarta is Anyer Beach located 160 km about two hours drive from Jakarta.
It’s at Cilegon, Banten Province.Wide open beach, waves, cries of sea gulls,
white sands, palms, mountainous view (part of Mount Krakatoa), fresh air, and a
lighthouse thrown in, are just the things found at Anyer Beach to relax the
mind.Anyer, the town of Anyer Beach, was the starting point of The North Coast
Road built by Dutch Governor General, Herman William Daendels in 1808, where
his vessel called Virginia landed, before continuing on to Batavia (now
Jakarta).There are many recreational and sports equipment available for rent at
the beach at reasonable prices such as bicycle, speedboat, surf board, and
jetski. The beach is also a good place for parasailing. Surf board rental is
about Rp. 5,000 per day, while jetski is about Rp. 80,000 for 15
minutes.Children play park and beach ball arena are also available. That’s why
Anyer Beach is popular with families.
Various accommodation from
hotels, home-stay, resorts, and cottage are available to visitors who want to
stay overnight. Prices range from US$ 10 – US$ 200 per night.
Enjoy dinner by the beautiful
sunset from restaurants or food stalls offering mostly seafood menu along Anyer
Beach. The seafood are fresh from the sea bought from local fishermen.
